Children’s Leadership Education In Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Program (LEND) Receives Grant To Specialize In Autism

Washington, DC— The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded The District of Columbia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program at Children’s National Medical Center an expansion grant of $200,000 per year through 2011 to teach and prepare future leaders in the interdisciplinary treatment of autism and related developmental disabilities.

  • Children’s National has a new Division of Rheumatology

    Led by Lawrence K. Jung, MD, the Division of Rheumatology diagnoses and treats patients with pediatric rheumatologic and immunologic diseases, performs clinical and bench research, and provides access to clinical trials through the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatism Research Alliance.

    All visitors and guests to Children’s National must present photo identification or have their photo taken at check-in to enter the facility.


    Support Children’s National Medical Center with the Care for Kids Shopping Card

    Nearly 500 area stores have committed to participate in this year’s Care for Kids Holiday Shopping Card program benefiting Children’s National. From October 24 through November 2, 2008, consumers will receive a 20 percent discount at participating area retailers and restaurants when they present the card.
