Public Notice: Disinfectant levels in water on March 28, 2010

On April 9, 2010, Children’s National learned that a water sample collected on March 28, 2010, showed an increase in the level of chlorine dioxide—a common disinfectant used at Children’s National to keep the water supply safe from many bacteria and viruses—in a limited area of the hospital’s water supply. Children’s National’s water supply is currently in compliance with the EPA standards, and was well below EPA levels every day of testing before and after March 28, 2010. However, if you and/or your child were at Children’s on March 28, 2010 and you wish to learn more, please read the full EPA notice.
